Who We Are
Redeemed Training and Consulting is dedicated to the professional education and training of individuals and organizations to better protect themselves, their loved ones, friends, employees and coworkers.
Redeemed Training and Consulting offers a variety of training and consultation services. These include expert witness testimony in regard to Use of Force (both Law Enforcement and Civilian) and other common police practices and procedures. Creation of curriculum or content as needed or requested for your organization. Site assessments with a summary report and recommendations. Review and recommendations or assistance in creating emergency action plans. Personal protection and self-defense training. Security officer defensive tactics training. Stress management, resiliency and wellness training and more.
About Nate
Captain Nathan “Nate” Auvenshine retired, in June 2022, as the Law Enforcement Services Division Captain. Nate has over 27 years of Law Enforcement service. Nate spent nearly 26 of those years with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office in Central Arizona. During that time, he held positions in Patrol, training, SWAT. Nate was commanding officer of both the “Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking Task Force” (A multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional drug taskforce) for 5 ½ years and the YCSO “Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team where he spent over 18 years in various roles.” Nate also had the opportunity to be Academy Commander for the Northern Arizona Regional Training Academy. Nate has over 17 years of Law Enforcement leadership experience and over 20 years of experience in teaching and instructing.
Nate is certified as a Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (AZPOST) instructor in Defensive Tactics and Firearms. He is also certified by the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) instructor in “Patrol Response to Active Shooter” and certified instructor in the ALERTT Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course.

Resiliency, Stress Management
and Self-Care
Our Stress Management, Resilience and Self-Care course is a 90 minute course that covers the basics of what stress is, the phases of stress our bodies go through and healthy and proven stress management techniques. You will also hear transparent and real examples of how stress, when not properly addressed, can have serious consequences to our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health and well being. In order to better care for others, we must first care for ourselves. Our health and wellness has a direct effect on our ability to better care for others.
Vulnerability Assessments
Site vulnerability assessments are conducted to better mitigate risk and protect those you work with and serve from violent or hostile threats. We will identify what, currently, is in place that is good and give some suggestions and considerations for things your organization may want to implement in order to better mitigate risk and threat potential. Each assessment includes a comprehensive report with all of the information, recommendations and considerations identified during the walk through of the building or facility.
Basic Leadership Principles
This 8 hour course will give attendees knowledge and information on what a leader is, the roles and responsibilities of a leader, characteristics of effective leaders, leadership styles, the leader (supervisor) v. friend dilemma, the role of a leader in mentoring and training as well as facilitated discussion on the application of these principles.
Reasonable Response Options to Unprovoked Violence
Our Active Assailant Response Options course is a 2-3 hour course designed specifically for private entities, persons and organizations who want training and knowledge on reasonable options that can be employed in the event of an active assailant (active shooter) situation. Situational awareness is emphasized. The options taught are practical, simple and applicable to any location such as a church, place of business, school, grocery store, or other frequently visited sites. This course will better prepare and equip you to protect yourselves, co-workers and loved ones should you ever have to face this type of tragic situation. If your organization desires, we also offer tabletop scenario based exercises, customized to your needs, to take the classroom information and knowledge into a practical application setting.
Self-Defense with and
without Weapons

Our self-defense classes are specifically designed for real world situations and customized to you and your needs. This is not a course for sport or competitive fighting. We teach practical and realistic self defense with and without weapons. This includes the use of improvised weapons in your environment. Legal justification for use of force is also covered. These courses are based in the American Combato (Jen-do-Tao) self defense program, over 20 years of Police Combatives instruction and training and over 25 years of martial arts experience in various disciplines. No prior experience or training is needed.
Topics include:
- The OODA Loop and the importance of color codes to act preemptively
- How to stand and position yourself when approached
- The most vital parts of the body and how to attack them
- Easy-to-learn basic techniques that stop the attacker and allow for escape
- How to deal with common attacks and how/when to make the first move
- How to use the element of surprise!
Nate holds the rank of 4th degree (“yondon”) black belt in the American Combato System and is an authorized instructor in American Combato (Jen-do-tao)”. Nate partners with PrescottCombatives.com to teach the Self-Defense Classes and holds quarterly seminars.
